Physiotherapists, osteopaths, sports rehab professionals and chiropractors attended an evening at Southampton Football Club’s (SFC) Staplewood Training Ground to hear Mr Chapman-Sheath deliver an educational lecture: ‘Advances in Surgical Treatment of the Knee’.

The event was well attended and there was plenty of sharing of best practice ideas and information around treatments to prevent injury. The importance of early diagnosis and increased treatment options were discussed and delegates also learned about:
· Sports knee injuries in adults and children
· Meniscal repair and preservation surgery
· Cartilage repair and preservation in the sports person
· Cartilage transplantation
· ACL mechanism of Injury and management
· Surgical techniques for ligament reconstruction in adults and children

Following the event, a Sport Therapist from SFC’s Academy said: “Thank you very much for a fantastic presentation. Some great advice on making sense of patient assessment, especially relating to the Anterior Drawer, Lachman and Pivot-Shift test, and the importance of scanning as soon as possible.”
